Marant buzz

The Isabel Marant Spring 2010 show was one of the first spring shows I watched this season, and my intuition wasn't too far off saying the collection was spot on (read my post or view more photos here). Now collection pieces are arriving at net-a-porter and are instant sell-outs, like the top above. I think the Isabel Marant collection is the perfect mix op Parisian, bohemian, casual chique; with reason the talk of the town.

Daria Werbowy also makes the ad campaign more appealing than ever.

Inspiration: Mango

Inspiration: lower-priced brand Mango's fashion show. The army colors remind me of Balmain and the new Vogue Paris issue (March).

Pastel denim! I'm going to look for a pale pink one, or lilac.

Trend report spring 2010: Lace

What a beautiful shoot (Source: Shopbop, for more inspiration, go to shopbop.com). I think the unwear-as-outerwear trend is pretty hard. I mean, you shouldn't look like a porcelain doll that is ready to break at one touch, and that is why they styled the model with the dark eyes and tousled locks. But it makes it all the more difficult not to look like an elite hooker. The line is thinner than a needle. Dior, gorgeous Dior, really took the trend to the next level, but I think for the mortal among us, we need to keep things modest.

The western trend/elements without looking like a lost cowgirl.

Fendi Spring 2010

MAGNIFICENT

I simply HAD to post the video in stead of loose runway pictures, because no way pictures can do justice to the fabrics like a video. And justice they deserve. Keywords: Floatiness and transparancy. Karl Lagerfeld has such an eye for detailing, it's just magnificent. Trend: we saw an undone hem, like at Prada.

Emma Watson for Burberry Spring Summer 2010!

Emma Watson is again the face of Burberry, this time for their Spring/Summer campaign. I love the pictures, but I liked the smoldering, smokey-eye pictures of Fall a little better though. It looks like pretty faces and modeling skills run in the family, because Emma's brother Alex is also featured this time (second picture).

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010

Christopher Bailey did an amazing job with his spring collection for Burberry Prorsum. With its glamourous sugar coat of shine, short and draping, this collection definitely aims at a younger public, subtly emphasised by the fact that the front row it girls were wearing the designs that were shown on the runway. Emma Watson (picture) for example.

Chanel Body Art

(Please click for larger image)
This we haven't seen too many times before.
Chanel's artistic director of makeup Peter Philips designed these temporary tattoos for the RTW Spring/Summer 2010 show. They were inspired by blossoms, swallows, Chanel chains and pearls and were a perfect match with the Marie-Antoinette-goes-to-the-barn look Karl put forward. G o r g e o u s.
The soft, natural hair and makeup looks are effortless and beautiful.
